Gareth’s research interests include flight handling qualities and control, particularly the pilot-vehicle dynamic interface and modelling and simulation of the flight dynamics of fixed and rotary wing aircraft. Current projects under his supervision include: developing the handling qualities and load alleviation functions for the European Tilt Rotor Aircraft, visual perception in flight (based on use of time-to-contact, Tau, theory), simulation fidelity and aircraft/rotorcraft-pilot couplings. |
