Personal Statement

At the Developmental Neuroscience Lab in Trondheim, Norway we study how babies learn and develop, particularly during the first two years of life. Some of the areas we are interested in include how babies learn about themselves and the world, how they time their actions and anticipate forthcoming events, and how they develop postural control. We are also interested in understanding why and how some babies develop problems and are investigating ways of early detection of neurological deficits. Recently, we have started to study normal and abnormal functional brain development with high-density EEG, performing source analyses of anticipatory timing strategies in infants, children, adolescents, and adults.
